Music In The Film...From Carpenter's 'The Thing'?

Anyone else think the music in the film ( example, around the 1:24 mark) was lifted directly from John Carpenter's 'The Thing'?

The repetitive/repeating chords, etc...

Opinions?

It sounds very, very similar. It was absolutely inspired by The Things score.
