In Love's Long Journey, Missie and Willie adopted that Jeff kid. Sonny's brother. In Love's Abiding Joy, he was still there, all grown up. Now it's as he didn't exist. Wtf!?!?!?! Even Mattie says something like, "You should adopt because I don't have any brother or sisters since Cathy died." What about Jefffffff???
Aaron and Arnie Davis aren't in the movies anymore either. They were mentioned in Loves Abiding Joy but now it's like they fell off the face of the earth and never existed.
Supposedly Jeff, Aaron, and Arnie are all working at Missies ranch but nothing was ever said about them being there. The ranch hasn't even been seen since LAJ.
I thought the same exact thing when Maddie said that about not having any brothers or sisters since Kathy died. The writers didn't do a very good job of keeping things straight.

shareYou're right. It doesn't make much sense. There are a lot of inconsistencies throughout the movies unfortunately. There are a lot of unanswered questions too.
