Some of the funny moments (her vampire conversation with the social worker, the insect/incest thing, everything involving Joann) were more like comic relief than accidental hilarity. It's a dark show and would be too heavy without some laughter-inducing incidents.

I couldve done without the comedy, and the gang of girls in the classroom, especially the high and mighty one that laughs at everything.
shareI related to this too. I had been in special ed and this is how these types of classrooms work. People of different abilities are together for a subject matter. We bonded like a 'family' over the course of a year because we knew we had several odds against us.

shareSee I thought it did--otherwise the film would have been her just getting beaten down. The classroom was part of her support system.
shareI would have liked the scenes better if the characters in her classroom werent so animated. It felt a bit forced. Otherwise the film was good, but not as great as I expected. This was her break out role, and well deserved.
