I really don't understand the ending of this movie. From where Miranda called 911 and until the end I had no clue what was going on. Could someone please clear this up for me? Thanks a lot!
"Hey, Can I have a piece of that cake?" "PIZZA! WE LIKE PIZZA!"
I thought the ending was terrible. I think Christie's realized her revenge wouldn't be carried out and she saw the bracelet her dad gave her and decided to kill herself and it is implied she died when her eyes close. Still I don't think she could have died that easily. Miranda had called 911 so paramedics and police would have arrived to treat Ray and the paramedics would have to treat Christie too because the police would want to keep her alive to press charges. Unless she cut herself really deep. The end scene of Ray and Miranda giving Haley a jacket is stupid.
lol i agree.. i think christie should`ve lived... there`s no way she would`ve died that quick. I thought that the first time i saw this and everytime i rewatch. I wish she would`ve lived..she probably would`ve turned out fine with treatment. but i kinda liked the end with hayley and her parents. overall i like this movie.. it`s good acting for a lifetime movie and good budjet. the houses are so beautiful.. i`ve never seen houses that nice in a movie. and of course this was filmed in canada béc it reminds me of the houses i`ve seen here.
It was an OK movie but way too many plot holes to be believeable. However the ending could have been better. The ending with the Birthday gift was just stupid and pointless.
Yeah, that was a pretty silly ending. They could have at least tied it together. I would have at least liked to seen the parents tell their daughter that they have to learn to trust each other from now on and they won't take her for granted - etc. But instead they give her a leather coat for her birthday (nice coat, I admit) and it's all happily ever after ... just odd.
So Christie, although tried to commit suicide, did not die.
When the paramedics came and tried to tie her down to the stretcher, she fought back. They eventually restrained her and took her to the hospital.
Christie was arrested (obviously). And when Ray felt better, he was released from the hospital. On that day, he, his wife and Haley went to visit Christie in a mental institute.
Christie has just one thing to say: she tells Haley to appreciate her parents.
I thought she was imagening Haley being given the Jacket by her parents. Hence why it comes so out of left field and has a "Happily ever after" feeling to it. It's what Christie wanted... a family that loved her.
It bugged me, too, that they didn't show what happened, whether or not Christie ended up being ok. I agree that it didn't look like she cut that deep, and they would have been able to save her, esp. since they obviously were able to save her uncle.
And she was definitely psycho, and having your dad commit suicide would mess up anyone (I speak from personal experience, having lost my dad that way right after I turned 16), but to go that crazy and blame her uncle and seek revenge is just over the top. When he told her the truth, she chose not to accept it because it messed up everything she thought was true and that made her feel justified in her actions. I missed a bit in the middle, though, and didn't see how the blonde woman was killed. Was it Christie that killed her? I just assumed she had, and I thought that made her even more cold-hearted, to pay this woman to do those things and then to kill her.
As for the ending, it was definitely corny, but I think they were just trying to show that the daughter was getting along with her parents again.
The blonde woman was indeed killed by Christie. She lied to her by saying they would celebrate setting up Uncle Ray by attending a party. So the blonde woman had a taxi cab drop her off there and she thought it was strange that nothing was going on in the area. That was when Christie snuck up on her and hit her on the head with a heavy object. That was done so hard that it killed her. Christie then says to herself that she never planned to give any money to the blonde woman and that she was just interested in making Uncle Ray pay for what he had done.
