Typical Fox b*llsh*t!!!! Cant believe they canceled it

This show was really good, a bit of a highlander rip off, but well written and very well acted. I'm going to miss it

reply

I really dont see how its a highlander ripoff... The whole immortality commonality does not make it that but none the less... Fox pulls the same crap...

Nothing can measure up to its Nielson juggernaut American idol (reality TV is crap btw) so anything that inspires people to think for themselves, learn from things... well anything good is canceled and yet anything that is crap or stupid stays

Thank you Fox fore reaffirming why I hate you...

You can't take the sky from me!

reply

yea they do it all the time!!

Take my love, take my land, take me where i cannot stand :))

Exactly what I was going to say. Fox is getting notorious for cancelling quality shows before giving them enough time to find a decent audience. Very very few shows are massive hits right out of the gate and yet Fox repeatedly blows off its best ventures. There are already rumours that they're going to cancel Josh Whedon's newest show before it even airs!

reply

when i heard that it was on fox to begin with..i thought of so many other shows of this genre that htey did cancel..

that show a few years ago..about good and evil....

the first one that dominic purcell was on....

there was firefly, wasn't there...

then there was the one that i say started the whole mess..

kindred the embraced..

nope....why do they keep on getting sci-fi stuff, if they have no intention whatsoever of letting it go to more then one season...they need to smarten up and let it go elsewhere.

even though i do not get the sci-fi station

i do get space..and i bet that they would have grabbed it up no problem if it was allowed to go over to your end of the deal..

it's just not right....

But those guys on American Idol are SOOOOOO CUUUUUTTEEE! I text messaged all my friends with my left hand and dialed for my favorite boo with my right hand, all while wiggling my chipped pink toenails in the air.

** snort **

I stated this in another post, but the cancellation of this show was highly disappointing to me. Usually I'm like, "Oh, well", but not about this.

Guess I'll have to start watching Family Guy

NOT!

I'm upset they pulled this, I liked it. They better not pull House or Bones, that would really piss me off.

The greatest achievement is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall.

House is tied with Desperate Housewives as the biggest show on TV. It's not going anywhere. Bones is not a hit but it wont be canceled yet.

^ You can watch it on Hulu.com

reply

You can download episodes online. That's how I watched it. There are high quality torrents.

It is currently running in Denmark. Did it only go on for one season ?

reply

Although I agree I hate Fox, its not all their fault. If there arent enough viewers watching the show, it cant continue, they dont make any money which doesnt benefit them. Sometimes they lose money. Although losing money wouldnt hurt them anyway they have so much, but i hate fox too!

reply

Although there is truth in what you say, it's unfortunate that TV networks no longer give a show the chance to find it's audience. Both New Amsterdam and Journeyman were shows with potential. They were just never really given a chance.

Look at a show from the 1980's like Cheers. If that came out today it probably would have been cancelled after 2 or 3 episodes. It has the distinction of I think the only show to finish both last and first in the Nielsen's.

It just seems like unless a show builds a lot of prehype like Lost, it's very difficult for it to last past mid season anymore.

that's right..they never gave it a chance..

look at jag...it was on nbc, at first..i think the first year..and it was sucking in the ratings...then cbs picks it up the next year and it runs for nine more.

i know a couple of people that really liked it

if it's not an instant hit then fox, basically doesn't want it at all..

they have to give some shows time to build and audience....or not to put them on in the first place...

they never even gave it a chance...

and what keeps on bugging me is that they'll try another sci-fi thing......then it goes nowhere at all.......they're only into shows that have a huge appeal...like the aforementioned idol

I agree that it was a great series but I guess it didn't get enough ratings but Fox could still have at least had a concluding episode for the fans.

reply

i work in advertising, and its all about the numbers. if the show isnt hitting high enough ratings, advertisers wont want to sell their product inside the shows timeslot. so with no advertisers, the show wont make any money and thus requires cancelation

Maybe they'll pick it up again and run some new seaons on F/X or something?

reply

Maybe they can run the shows again so others will see it and maybe the show will catch on. I was looking forward to seeing this show in the fall to see what happens to John.

It was a very smart show. I loved it and I really can't believe its gone.

All the networks have been doing this lately! And not just most recent history either. I remember the show "The American Embassy" I think it was on WB (before the merge obviously) and it was cancelled after a couple episodes. And "Firefly" although I didn't watch it during the original airing, it was an amazing show. Pretty sure that was FOX, and "Commander In Chief" with Geena Davis. That's ABC. So... anyone think of one for NBC we have all the networks covered.

This one really bums me out though. I loved this show last season, and was one of those that I had to watch every week. I can't believe it was cancelled! It was one of the few shows I started watching from the start and never missed a single episode. Most shows don't grab my attention that much.

At least they should have given it a chance, they renewed Lipstick Jungle
so New Amsterdam had a wonderful premise, a man who cannot age and is loved by his children who are mostly senior citizens. They truly love their dad and keep his secret and he sits by their bedside when they are dying of old age and
and then starts the cycle again he meets another young girl and they marry
and have babys and he sees them grow up and old... FASCINATING
