Rent Control, birth control

I can't help thinking two things: immortal people must have incredibly cheap rent, what with New York City rent control, and, considering how many of Amsterdam's kids I've seen in just the first two episodes, what are the odds that his descendants are a good portion of the city's population? Oh, of course that brings up one more: does he keep track of his descendants so that he can avoid sleeping with any of them, or is it like "kissing cousins", and beyond a certain degree doesn't matter?

(Yes, I like the show ans am sorry it's gone, but I'm a history, SF, and crime buff.)

I do know he keeps track of his descendants. He has a family tree hidden away that chronicles the history of his 63 children.

--I think John Owns his home, probably got it cheap back in the day

-- looking at 'Soldier's Heart' when Omar's mother disappeared he Enlisted at the Drop of a hat, so its doubtful he had the Soldier ID ready and waiting as the Heir to his Lawyer self so I doubt any of his IDs had the benefit of 'rent control'

my one complaint about the show is that they went the route of making him 'fertile' as it opens the door to Overthinking it when you realized that People re-produce exponentially...
-- yeah it makes sense that he 'favors Omar' and does what he does for him because Omar is his child, even if Omar is now twice his age
... But Highlander (the original Movie's Extended Cut anyway) had Connor have a similar Dynamic with an adopted Daughter so Blood ties are not needed
-- Brining up Highlander, I think the Move might have been made, as much to strengthen Character Bonds, as to distance the series from the Highlander Universe
