Miniseries?

IMDb categorizes this as a mini-series. Since when is that a euphemism for "cancelled mid-season"?

actually it was never intended to air at all... as I recall it was only taken off the shelf after the Writer's strike left Fox w/o anything to air..

so in order for it to get a 2nd season (again strike means no more 1st season eps) it'd have had to do some serious Numbers

so strictly speaking 8 episodes were all that would ever be made... and with a degree of resolution in the finale Mini series is an apt description... although at last check it says "TV series"

I don't know if I knew that at one time or not; thank you for the background. It explains a lot of things. I really liked that character and wish Coster-Waldau was in a network series again.

I remember reading an interview with the lead actor and he said he had expected to live in America for several years for this show. So in the beginning it seems they were trying to produce a long running TV series. However the basic premise and the bad casting choices relegated this show to a soap opera romance, not an edgy detective show with an element of time travel or mystery to it. Bad writing, bad casting but the lead actor was and is, quite good. It's the best thing for a bad tv series to be cancelled early on rather than drag it out.
