Forever is The New Amsterdam

With a new mythology, and I'm watching that for sure.

It really does look like a reconfigured and tweaked New Amsterdam.

It's been pretty good so far. It focuses more on the police procedural aspect than NA did, and I kind of miss the romantic aspect but overall I think it works a bit better as a show.

I've been watching Forever, but mostly because I like Ioan Gruffudd from Horatio Hornblower and am glad he has a thriving concern going after some scarce years. But it's just not as good as New Amsterdam, mostly the writing, partly the formulaic stuff that makes it seem like other shows, borrowing creepy nerds and Moriartys because they're recognizable. I managed to find the first season of NA floating around and am watching the pilot right now, and am angered anew at the decision to cancel it. Hoping Forever will bring some people to watch the first incarnation of this idea.

I liked Forever, but it definitely sounds similar to New Amsterdam. I will look for NA on Netflix!

Who wants to live forever?

Something is missing in 'forever' I can't but my finger on it.... But can't stand same show just rebooted and ch change!

You are so right and they killed both shows way too quickly!!! The one good thing is that the NA lead actor got the chance to star in Game of Thrones and has a great character in that series too... I wish the studios would stop killing great series and that Netflix, Starz, HBO etc would pick up these shows when the studios fail to realise what a great fanbase these shows actually have...

Yup, and they both got cancelled too.
