A great idea, very poorly executed.

This could have been a great film. Ok, the dialogue was bad, the the initial idea was great. First of all, the monster. He was too clean looking, he looked just like a normal human being. We all know what bog bodies look like. parts of them are perfectly preserved, others hideously deformed by thousands of years of pressure. They could have at least given him SOME deformities to make him look a bit more montstrous. Secondly, we could have explored the back stories more to have him specifically target those who had buried others in the bog. Maybe give him some more human elements, a la De Niro's Frankenstein. There are also element of celtic paganism that could have been brought in to explain the monster's state of mind. I kept thinking he could have easily integrated into normal life, and that took away from it. Also bad editing, stunts, dialogue. For once I can say tht is one film that could really benefit from a decent remake, maybe with some help from our American friends.

A vote for Podgey is a vote for his funky dead wife!!!
