My uncle that swung says the show is accurate

with most details...He said he and his girlfriend rarely miss a show and it's his favorite show on right now. He grew up in that time period and now that I've grown up he shares some stories. He said he was a lot like Tom and that time period was the best time of his life. He swung a lot from 73-76 until his wife (my aunt) finally found out about his secret life and left him. She was a good woman but always seemed angry at the world.Anyway, I love to hear his stories and watch the show.

not to call your uncle a liar, but while single women are accepted, unaccompanied men are unwelcome when it comes to the lifestyle (swinging). that's the way it's always been, and unfortunately for the legions of men out there, that's the way it's always going to be. at least he has great taste in television shows...

Uh, sorry to say that most swingers would say your uncle wasn't actually swinging, but cheating. Most swingers are vehemently against cheating. Swinging pretty much requires the knowledge, if not participation, of all parties in the relationship.

I'm glad though that his stories entertain you and that you can bond over the show. :)

I see everyone's point and I think I agree. I confronted my uncle last night and told him I was thinking the reason Aunt Jean was always so mad and eventually left him was because he was actually cheating on her and she didn't approve. He got real angry and told me I didn't understand. He actually threw a small candle jar against the wall and stormed out. I called him all night and checked again today and he hasn't returned home. I am going to his house later today and demand some answers.

Stubnut...You don't know me or my uncle any more than I know you..I don't live in a fantasy world and I don't appreciate the comment. I was hospitalized in 2004 for psychotic episodes and don't appreciate those thoughts being brought back up. I enjoy picnics and outdoor games.

Swingtown is a good wholesome show with good character development.

You probably should have asked him as calmly as possible, and told him about other people requesting more detail about the swinging lifestyle and what precipitated it.

Your uncle was not swinging he was cheating on his wife which is not tolerated in the swinging environment. He was a piece of crap who should not be emulated.
