foreigners

Why does this movie, and many other Korean movies (and other asian movies) depict foreigners in such a bad light, making racist comments and treating people badly. I lived in Asia for half my life as a white person, and I never met any caucasians who treated asians poorly, but the racism from asians towards whites is really strong, especially in Korea. We are treated as perpetual outsiders, barely human, like outcasts. why is this tollerated in such a mainstream film?

I think they have just made a movie that sticks to the Mills & Boon norm. Tall, handsome, not-much-of-a-talker hero with fire burning in his eyes (lol!) and heroine whos knees go weak when he's around! I cannot comment on the racism issue never having been to Korea, but I really did enjoy the movie (although I felt that comment he passed about her dress being like his grandmom's pyjama's fell flat)

My white friends used to not be able to believe the experiences I would tell them about, until we became friends enough to hang out together and they saw it for themselves, or experienced it first-hand just because they're with a black person.

So while you, yourself may not behave this way, obviously this is how many whites are perceived and some actual experience has had to make Asians view them that way.
