Not Love Actually Episode - Costume Question

Does anyone know why Ryan Sampson (Alex) was wearing a 2WD 101.3 radio station teeshirt in this episode? 2WD is local radio station here in Hampton Roads VA USA, and we just watched this episode last night on our local WHRO public TV station and saw this...can't figure out why this local American radio station was part of a British Comedy.

Probably the same reason why an actor (I'm not sure who) was wearing a Washington (DC) (USA) Redskins (American football) team hat on Ballykissangel during a fete. I practically fell off my chair when I saw that. And Onslow on Keeping Up Appearances occasionally wore a Green Bay (Wisconsin, USA) Packers (American football) jersey. It's just one of those things.
