I loved the film but...

The ending kind of annoyed me due to it's similarity to the ending of Magnolia, with the whole look at the camera and smile thing. Minor quibble though, the rest of the film was superb.

Magnolia you say? Thank you, that is enough to make me not want to see this. Magnolia started off great, but the rest and especially the ending are so stupid. What a horrible movie.

This film has nothing to do with magnolia. I highly recommend it. It is a wonderful film!

Found it to be too long but the ending quite touching. As an aside, given their home French Taxi driver much really rake in the cash.

You musn't have paid attention then, the grandfather clearly said about twice that he paid for the house. :)

Got to say I agree. The final shot was sweet, but felt too saccharine after the gut-punch of the inflatable cushion scene. It didn't spoil the film though.
