What is this based on?

Allan Cubitt is credit with the adaptation, so obviously it's based on something else. Besides the Thin Lizzy song, there's also a novel by Christopher Golden of this title. I'm sure there are other things with the same title too.

Anyone got the scoop on what it's an adaptation of?

It is based on a book by Simon Carr - The boys are back in town. But they made some changes to the storyline.
