Almost everybody has his/her opinion about Fred Durst and Chris Klein and if they were any good in Play Dead. I'm curious about the rest of the cast and how they 'played' their characters? Like Michael Beach as Devon, Jake Bussy as Merle and Paul Francis as Ray, etc?
Any comments?
The film may not be perfect, and for the actors some lines seemed overplayed a bit, other times just fine. I just figured everyone was having a good time, and I for one was never bored and felt this was entertaining.
I at first got Play Dead on DVD as a double feature disc with Last Of The Living, but for some strange reason the aspect ratio on this disc had Play Dead at 1.33:1 full screen. I enjoyed the film enough to go ahead and order a copy of it by itself on a DVD in a widescreen edition. For me to buy another copy of the film is a big deal, so I'd recommend this to my friends who also like their films a bit on the unusual side! Funny thing is, to those I've told to look at the trailer on YouTube, no one was able to identify Fred Durst! Though yes, he did seem to resemble Billy Bob Thornton in A Simple Plan, maybe that was intentional -- I thought he did a great job (and I'm not a fan of his music even!).
Thanks! This helps. I'm a big Paul Francis fan ( Ray Jones ) and I haven't seen it yet, cause it's in the theatre in my country, or in the stores. I want to buy the DVD, if I can find a site that sells it other than ebay and amazone. A lot of people tried to talk my out of buying it, but I'm going to try anyway.
