what the crap?

i thought that mr bishop was going to use real teens for this movie not adults playing teens to bad no one has the guts to do it right! Just another 3rd rate zombie film that could have been great.

I've seen the full cast list. It is about 90% real teens, 10% kids who look teenage.

I think it's gonna be pretty bad ass.

I've met some of the cast. As they were mostly half my age, that would make them teens. I don't think any of the teens are minors, though (17 or under). Eighteen to twenty is what I met. I think that qualifies.

Perhaps a little leeway as child labor laws do not favor independent films and such?

I told my sister about it last night over the phone and how they would need zombies on certain big nights (yes, I'm working on the movie), and she asked if her daughter could be a zombie (she's nine). I told her probably not because of those very laws. I guess a quick internet search may assist you more in why minors wouldn't/couldn't be used and that might clarify things. Good luck with that. Tin Out!

my point was that during audition the casting people and others in charge(sic)were going on and on about how they wanted kids playing kids not adults playing kid (nerds vs goonies). At the first adutions there were many under 16 actors and during call back couple of guys and girls u-16. The child labor laws are not that difficult to work with in GA( been in two myself-11yrs old as a lead and 15 as a lead)What upsets me is when a production comes in and saids one thing an something else happens. One of the "Teens" was born in 1977(No prpblem with child labor but maybe with AARP lol) And just out of intrest aren't most of the Local Talent with only one agency( happens to be the one I'm with but at 15 i must be too ypung lol)

reply

Some of the talent are with one particular agency- the BEST agency in GA! And some of the cast are flying in from LA, and some of the cast have other representation. All of the cast are great and many have been passed over for roles because they were too old or too young. It's part of the business. I beleive those in charge did a great job of casting the best talent for each role, regardless of age. Overall, the cast is very age-appropriate. Good luck with your acting career, it sounds like you're doing ok without this film.

reply

Yeah, I suppose you are doing ok without this film. That very same agency you referred to is the one I will end up with very shortly (perhaps). Yes, I know and work with some of them on other projects and interest has been expressed on both sides. The future will answer that one.

I was not privy to the casting and was only cast myself very shortly before, but I am not a teen. As I said, I am twice most of their ages and I am supporting, so you can't call me a teen I guess. I might act like one...anyway...

I wouldn't fret too much over it. They are pretty close to what they need to be and the footage I've seen actually looks like teens doing their thing versus twenties being teenies (Welcome Back Kotter, Footloose, etc).

Well, I know you will do well, so keep up the good work and perhaps more "real" teen parts will come along soon. We are all hoping for the same thing and will hang in with you. Tin Out!
