What's All This Praise About...I didn't get it.
I'm missing something here. I didn't think the movie was good at all. I realize it's not a "serious" movie or whatever but I read somewhere that this is America's answer to 'Shaun of the Dead'?! I don't think so...
Is this film supposed to be absurd like 'Airplane' or something, where it doesn't take itself seriously at all? Because I thought the jokes in 'Dance...' were horribly dated and lame.
It basically came across as a movie that took itself seriously in that it was trying too hard to be funny and hip and absurd and campy(For literal funny see: Shaun of the Dead, Zombies of Mass Destruction, Scream [Original], Fright Night, Tales From the Crypt Movies...for absurd funny see the mother of all intentionally absurd horrors: ThanksKilling)
This film I felt was trying WAY too hard to be the funny, cool, absurd zombie movie. Nothing against Raimi, but this one didn't work for me.
Not the same type of movie but 'The Thaw' is probably my favorite Ghosthouse movie so far, as I haven't seen them all yet.
Just saying...
