"The biggest stand-up in the world"

...Michael McIntyre! -- Graham goes, in his introduction.

Who???

Not only had no-one I watched it with heard of him, nobody even recognized the face...! Graham can't possibly think this guy has a world-wide popularity anywhere near guys like Louis CK, Chris Rock, Eddie Izzard, Bill Burr, Jimmy Carr -- Billy Connolly, anyone?

IMDb-boards would be less confusing if people would mark their signatures clearly.

You're right! I would also add Frankie Boyle.

I read the article and also a few others; I'm sure those numbers are correct -- but as I kind of suspected, he seems to be mostly doing his thing in Britain.

I suppose in that very specific sense it's correct that at the moment he's the highest grossing, but on the other hand he clearly does a lot more venues than most of the comics I mentioned -- who I still maintain are much "bigger" in the sense that they have a world-wide following and are recognisible faces/names in much larger areas, and have been for a long time. Clearly that is to some extent because of TV/Movie presence (Jerry Seinfeld, btw), but I'm certain that if you conducted a world-wide poll as to who the "biggest" stand-up comedians are, this guy would probably not make the top 20.

You come all this way and can't make it a working link?
