Anyone know if its going to be released on DVD here, or will I have to purchase a Region 2 Copy?

Thanks....

All I know is that it's airing on The Sundance Channel on Time Warner Cable in Southern California soon... November 27th at midnight. Sundance and IFC have been airing it for a little while now. DVD will take a while to make it to North America.

Okay so the movie was on Sundance Channel and I DVR'd it. I have to say it was much better than I had anticipated and underneath a fairly "adult" premise is a nice little love story between the two lead characters. The sexy elements of the story actually help move the narrative along, rather than stop it cold. That's a fine line and I think the director handled it well. The supporting players are excellent, well written and really shine. I'm sure some viewers will be shocked by what they see, but that's clearly not the goal of the film as anyone actually paying attention to the storyline will understand. This film is not available in North America, so many won't be able to see it yet but hopefully a Blu-ray/DVD release is imminent. The film deserves to be seen and at least IFC and Sundance are airing it in the U.S. periodically.

Flexicon,

I agree with you TOTALLY. This film never found the audience it deserves and has been slammed mercilessly, its director derided for having made it, even by the British press.

I keep hoping IFC or Sundance will air it and I'll get a chance to DVR it, too.

I've shown this film to friends and they loved it. I think people made too big a deal about the subject matter without even seeing the movie. That's happened time and again and people need to get over themselves. This is a good flick and might be compared to another interesting indie known as "Mister Foe" U.S. or "Hallam Foe" UK. Both deal with sexual themes in an interesting way. I like little films like this that think outside of convention and still manage to tell a good story. Let's face it, it's all been done so you have to defy convention occasionally to tell a modern story. Glad a few people out there get it.

I agree. I saw this movie again with my girlfriend and was surprised at how much she liked it, too. I can't believe the absolute slams this movie received. I've Googled British reviews, also, and they seem to delight in putting down everything about this movie and its director. I don't get that at all. I think this movie was refreshingly different, offbeat and, yeah, kind of charming in its own way. And the subject was quite novel.

Dunno. I doubt it considering the thumbs down this movie (unfairly) received. And now that DVDs are going the way of VHS, it's less likely. Not enough profit in it by far. However, it does appear on Sundance from time to time and it's available for instant viewing on Netflix. That may be as good as it gets.
