it's no fun to do it in a car
you usually end up with a gear shift or hand brake in the wrong spot..
That only adds to the excitement.

That's what the backseat is for...or, if your backseat goes down and opens up the trunk then the backseat/trunk.
I had a 1991 Dodge Shadow 4-door when I first did it, and I'm 6'4". The only uncomfortableness I had in that car was driving it (since, even with the seat all the way back, my knees were above the steering wheel).
