I hate it

I like the series and it happened that episodes 1-6 is my favorite part of it. But this remake is nothing but a huge dissapointment.
First of all, most of the little touching moments from the series, that made it heartwarming (kind of) and likeable were lost, but those that still were there seemed too forced and rushed. Why did they include the part where Misato stares at naked Shinji for two minutes, but exclude for example the part where Shinji meets Aida while he was gone, or that part where Rey pilots Eva for the first time after she recovered (in the end of episode 5 it works so great, even though it is so simple). Shinji's classmates were so ignored, which is sad, because they are kind of my favorite characters in the series. It doesn't even feel like they become friends with Shinji, because they didn't get enough time.
Also, it was strange to watch it, because it doesn't looked like a movie. it was more like a bunch of episodes combined into one (but wait... that's what that is). You can even guess where the episode ends and beggins even if you didn't watched the series.
All in all, it looks like this movie was made for absolutely no reason and also managed to fail drastically. Now I wonder why do a lot of Evangelion fans like it? Better fights? Explotions? It might be true that it has better graphics, but less heart for sure. It reminds me George Lucas and his attempts to kill Star Wars by making all the special editions with better CGI, but unwatchable because all the magic from the original is no longer there.
Oh, and the ending titles. Where did "Fly me to the Moon" go? Instead they put some annoying pop song. And that sucks.

I like the movies a lot so far. Sure a lot of the character context is lost, but that happens when shows or books are translated into films. The creator is changing the series because his outlook on life has improved, and honestly the End of Evangelion was just as disappointing as the end of the series. I am looking forward to how the third and fourth film are worked out.

Fly me to The Moon is there. Beautiful World was used to show the audience who know the show that this rendition is going to be more light hearted (and so far it has)

Oh sorry.. I just googled it and it's only on the ost. Utada's version I like the most.

It's in the movie, only they don't play any of the vocals. The instrumental opening is there though.

and don't forget to try the dipping sauces. They really bring out the ham.
