Dead Undead Info

Seems there is a lot of MIS-information here, so I wanted to clarify a few things:

1) This film has NOT been screened anywhere, by anyone.

2) The "ratings" posted here, good and bad, are total BS. See #1 as to why.

3) This is NOT a remake of anything. It's an action film with a horror edge to it. We didn't make art, it was ENTERTAINMENT. It's not suppossed to be brilliant, just fun, and the movie doesn't take itself too seriously.

4) We hope to have a first cast and crew screening here in Los Angeles in the next month or two, should everything work out.

5) No distribution deals have been signed, though we have several interested parties.

6) The rating will probably be PG-13 or R. We don't know yet.

How do I know this? I am the writer, producer, executive producer, and one of the directors on this project.

Hurry up and release it - why didnt you have a distribution deal before you made it???

We're waiting impatiently to see it. What's up? Any news on a release date?

reply

Hey, I'm just as eager to get it released as you are.

It's taken some time due to a number of factors. BUT, the delay has resulted in some great things.

We've got cool visual FX, an awesome original music score, Universal Studios Post Production Sound Department did the final sound mix on the project, and the film is now officially FINISHED.

We plan on sending out screeners to distributors in the next week or so, and depending on how quickly they respond, will determine when and who distributes the film. We do have a LOT of interest in the project, and will update this forum once we have a deal in place.

Thanks again for the interest.

Thank you for the update. Can't wait to see it. :)

"why didnt you have a distribution deal before you made it???"

Because it is VERY difficult for filmmakers to get pre-sales on a show unless they have a LONG proven track record. If you look up the people involved in the project, you'll see that while we all have extensive credits in the film industry as crew, this is our first attempt at making an entire movie.

Distribution deals are easy if you're Steven Spielberg, or Tom Hanks, but smaller independent projects have to produce an actual product BEFORE distributors will sign on to buy it. They want to know what they are buying.

The project is good. It's fun, loaded with gunfire, stunts, action, zombies, etc. It's not art, it's entertainment. If you want 90 minutes of zombies, vampires, loads of guns, cool stunts, a little bit of blood and gore, you'll enjoy this film.

Norway,

if you want a signed copy, when it comes out, drop me a note and I'll see what we can do. As for Josh's signature, I'm not sure what I can do there.. :-)

You should listen to the past podcast shows from Adam Carolla. He spoke a lot about how difficult it was to get his movie, "The Hammer" distributed. It turned out to be a great film and not your typical crap that pours out of hollywood these days. So, if this film turns out to be a good one, I'm sure it will be easier for you in the future.

Quite honestly, I'm sick of Hollywood and the attitude that they have to film goers. I'm sick of the unions and sick of what's going on and that's why the majority of our films are being filmed in every other country now. Good for them, btw! If hollywood doesn't want to distribute it, or any other major distribution company, take it elsewhere!

I love me a good zombie flick so i'm looking forward to it..

Wow "The rating will probably be PG-13 or R. We don't know yet." This is the problem with many films today. People will sell out their film to get part of the younger audience. The irony is it alienates the main audenc for this type of film. We know it's not The Godfather to begin with. But when you brand it with a PG-13 rating your telling your audience theres no viloence or nudity to keep you entertained if this movie sucks. So you lose a huge chunk of people right there. I'll sit through a bad movie as long as there is some decent gore and nice boobs to look at. I am so tired of all this teeny bopper PG-13 horror of late. Horror/Action is not for kids. Name one grear horror film with a PG-13 rating in the last 20 years. You cant. Maybe there has not been a good PG-13 horror film since the PG-13 rating was first created. And Lord of the Rings is fantasy not horror. I know its been over a year since you posted, and by now have your rating. So dont sell out your movie for money. Youll lose just as many viewers as youll gain. Horror fans are very loyal, and buy DVDs. Teeny Boppers dont.

Pattonfever, Realize that filmmakers have NO SAY in what rating the movie gets. There's a ton of violence, gore, gunfire, blood and guts. However, the standards by which a movie is rated change every year. A decade ago, what would get an NC-17 rating would now be an R. What was an R would be a PG-13.

We didn't "Aim" for any rating. We simply made a movie that was designed to be entertaining.

Hello, I have two very good PG-13 horror movies for you. THE RING and THE OTHERS. I'm sure there are many more, but those are two very good examples of what you can do with that rating.

Then hang your head in shame!! I've seen some appalling old tosh in my time but this takes the biscuit!! Terrible, terrible script..very poor acting (especially by the three teenage girls)...just..dreadful all round. I felt so sorry for Luke Goss having to appear in this old crap after appearing in Blade 2 and Hellboy 2.

'2nd Chance Productions'?? more like '2nd Rate'....

^^this. i've seen bad and i've seen worse and this was below that. i wouldn't be too quick to admit i was the writer, producer, director, coffee-getter, anything associated with this stupid waste of time. this was truly the worst movie i have ever seen, and that's saying something.
