EDIT: I just now noticed that Mr. Bishop is in two films released the same year about the same subject! That's odd and very confusing.

"Beauty and the Beast: A Latter-Day Tale" came out first. It is the original film. Then it was reissued as "Belle and the Beast: A Christian Romance". They are exactly the same film EXCEPT "Beauty" uses "The Book of Mormons" in all of the scenes, whereas "Belle" edits "The Book of Mormons" out and replaces it with the "Holy Bible". Not only that, "Belle" credits the actors with fake names. In "Beauty" the actress who plays Belle is correctly stated as "Summer Naomi Smart". In "Belle" they credit Summer as Stephanie Wood. Same for Matthew Reese as Eric Landry. In "Belle" they credit him as Matthew Davis.
shareI wish this information would be at IMDb. It confused me because people had so many hateful things to say about the film, and I didn't see what they saw. That leaves me more perplexed than ever because it's far from a "preachy" film. I've seen some like that. So, why the horrible things written about this movie?
I'll bet others are puzzled when they try to find the movie, which is shown fairly often. The confusion will continue I suppose.
