PRESTON GOT ROBBED!

Im so angry right now! Preston was a WAY better designer

reply

Yeah, I thought for sure the judges were going to name him the winner.

I actually kind of liked Ondine's rooms the best, but Nathan? On this challenge?? None of his rooms were really that great or memorable, just random, yet boring

reply

Now I'm not defending Nathan's rooms, since I liked Ondine's the best, too, but as soon as I saw Nathan's work I knew that the judges would be very impressed with the items that he made from scratch, the cloud/plate chandelier and the sideways paint artwork.

I liked the artwork a lot, too. Personally I couldn't pick a winner, because they were all three very good in different ways, but I knew why the judges were going to choose Nathan to win; just a bit more pure creativity that took center stage.

Another reason to stop watching this show.

I think the, nathan's, house was great, but who is living there...and a paper plate lighting fixture...it's like a kids project. A great entry room with no purpose, they hated the coffin, they did not like the bed... the wallpaper, but he wins? what? They call Preston perfect, but nah... we will give it to the extrovert. it's BS.

fun element as well).

I don't agree with them. I tend to agree with Margaret more.

Preston belongs on this show, Nathan belongs on TLCs Design Star. His paper plate lighting fixture was awful! and his entry way was stupid. He was also in the bottom 2 for his bedroom, and got yelled at for not changing it! Im so confused as to how they came to the decision that he won.

I agree victoria, they hated so many elements of Nathan's house yet they made him the winner. I have nothing against Nathan, I actually liked him but I didn't think he was the strongest as far as overall room design and decorating. He did extremely well on the Pop Designs but that's about it for the most part. i HATED his Swaroski room and his room of the future was just ok.

The last challenge, I did not like the sculptures at all and the master bedroom was boring. The judges hated his wallpapers.. I would not want to live in that house, it looked more like a showroom than somewhere where people would live.

Preston's and Ondine's were far better. I absolutely loved P's dining room and the office as well as the master bedroom.

I really don't get how these people judge. It's sort of like they don't look at the track record of the contestant and make their decision based solely on the last challenge. This was my first and LAST time watching Top Design. Not only did the judges were boring, the host was beyond boring, dull and lifeless and the challenges and contestants for the most part were very lackluster.

I'm going to stick with America's Next Top Model, at least I get a good laugh, it's entertaining and Tyra is so over the top that it is hysterical to watch her. I hope we get Project Runway soon, and hopefully with better designers and challenges than last season. I do love Tim and Heidi.

The only other entertaining show on Bravo besides PR was Tabatha's Salon Takeover and unless there is another season, I doubt I'll be watching anything on Bravo. I certainly don't care about spoiled rich women and that seems to be all Bravo is focusing on. In these trying times, I don't care to watch rich people spending tons of money on frivolous things or bitching about how hard they have it..

I could not live in Nathan's house. I could live in Preston's home. Preston's was laid out beautifully and seemed to flow better for entertaining. His color pallette was more sophisticated. I would like to put my hand through the TV and teach Eddie the true meaing of reach out and touch someone. What a total twat. He gives gays a bad name.

I do wish Preston all the best and have no doubt he will have a thriving career.

I totally concur - I too was shocked when they picked Nathan.
Definitely the wrong choice. Preston is in a completely
different league as a designer than the other two (and all
the others on the show this year); his taste was exquisite
from start to finish in his house. Nothing 'random' about
his choices, it was all thoroughly well-planned and
beautifully executed, like all his work. Nathan is good,
yes, but the overall concept of his house didn't work, and
I agree about the paper plate fixture - atrocious. They
got it wrong this year. Big time.

I agree that Preston should have won. He consistently produced elegant, well-designed rooms and the look of his final townhouse was the best of the three. And he did it despite the obvious stress (for an introvert like himself) of living with the rest of the group (and hostile Eddie). I was surprised that I liked Ondine's townhouse as well, particularly the striking room with the pink sofas. Nathan had an engaging personality, but his design seemed very hit and miss. I was amazed that the judges gave him the win despite the ugly wallpaper on the stairwell, despite the enormous casket that unbalanced the proportions of the room where it was housed, and despite turning the living room into an ugly entry.

I actually liked Ondine's the best there was something about I that I really really liked. Plus she actually manipulated the space. In the little girls room she had her carpenter build a whole wall thingy. It was the mirrored headboard that won the house over for me, I really like interestingly shaped things like that and I like mirrors.

Preston's was really good as well. While I liked Ondine's the best that's ust personal taste and I think that Preston's should have won based on his track record and technically his was a little better executed. I just don't think I'd be able to live in it.

I liked Nathan thoroughout the competition ans was actually hoping he'd win up until the week where Natalie got knocked off. Ever since that week none of his designes impressed me. I thought his house was really boring none of the rooms had any focus point (like Ondine's pink couches or Preston's beautiful bed). His rooms weren't bad per se but they were a little boring. The art work was the only thing that made any kind of impact on me. I agree with the previous poster who said that it looks like a store room.

After seeing Nathan's I thought to myself that I wouldn't mind seeing what Eddie would've done with the house...

If I ever have the money to do it I'd like to have Ondine and Preston (my two favorites this season) colaborate on my house. I should get a house first....

...I like dots.

I like Preston as a person but I felt uncomfortable from the very beginning with his townhouse. I just didn't feel like I would like to live there or be there at all. It is however too bad that he got vindictive Eddie as his helper. That really was bizarre.

I liked Ondine's house best, and it felt very liveable to me, except for the floral black & white wallpaper in the study.

I thought Nathan's house was fantastic, brilliant, except for the wallpaper of the landing, the dullish bed, and the overlarge chest. Other than that, he is clearly the most talented and brilliant designer, and it was obvious to me he should have won. Besides, he's been the front-runner since episode one -- so it was pretty much logical that he would probably win the finale.

I agree. Nathan and Ondine showed themselves to be very good designers but, especially on the last challenge, Preston was better. There's no question as to who I would hire to do my house.

Have to agree that Preston's was:

* Masculine only

* Dark

* Moody

* Predictable

I don't like either of those four things.

Plus, as the judges said, his design(s) look like hotels.

Not a design aesthetic I like.

As you mentioned, Nathan is very versatile, and totally current and hip and fresh. That's what the judges want to see -- not predictability and safety.

Then reply to the OP, please, and not to me. Thanks.

In real life he wouldn't make the scultures out of paper plates, but out of durable materials. Paper plates were a quick design element that could be used for something that had to be finished in a couple of hours or less. They only had two days to do these entire houses.
