Stiffness

I personally found that Preston's decor matched his personality -- very stiff.

He doesn't seem to be able to let himself rip and have fun and be free or loose. Ever. He seems very somber and stiff, and so are his rooms.

Even when he had a splash of art or color in one room, it was very mechanical and controlled, and so were his descriptions of it.

The guy needs to break out and go wild and crazy to get out of his box.

I would say he needs to get plastered, but I understand there is alcoholism in his family. But you can go wild and crazy without stimulants. Just get out of control and knock yourself out.
