Poor Preston

I don't get why no one likes Preston. He seems very nice to me, just a little reserved.

They don't like him because they are jealous of him..

Entire careers are built on hotel design. Kelly Wearstler for one. Don't be so naive.

I'm rooting for Preston, too. He has consistently turned out well-designed, attractive rooms, unlike his competition. He's also managed to stay focused on his designing, despite the discomfort that must come with the living conditions, particularly someone as obnoxious as Eddie.

I think it was telling when Ondine talked about how hilarious Nathan was behaving -- when they were all drinking. You'd have to be drunk (or 6) to think that what Nathan and Eddie were doing was even mildly amusing, let alone "hilarious." They were acting like imbeciles because they were DRUNK. Had even one of that trio been sober, they would've thought the other two were acting like jackasses. But because Preston doesn't drink (and hence behaves like an adult most of the time) they freeze him out as being "no fun." Right. I've been the sober one among drunks acting like fools, and watching their truly embarassing antics is what's really "no fun."

Exactly, Patricia - Preston was using his time wisely, conserving his
energy for the task at hand. I thought it was so telling the way Nathan
said, "he just won't make the effort..." Yeah, the effort to get drunk
and act like a baffoon. Just pathetic.

Also, when they showed the remaining contestants' actual apartments, I
could not believe how fantastic Preston's was. I would live there in
a New York second.

I think Preston seems pretty nice as well. I mean, look at the people who are talking about him! Most of the others sometimes talk "politely" to the other contestants, but then they turn around and talk about them behind their backs (or smirk to the camera after they say something "nice"). I was really tired of Eddie doing that. Ugh! He's so pompous. Nathan and Ondine didn't really bother me all that much, but Eddie... I wouldn't want to be his friend--he probably talks smack about everybody he meets.

I thought Preston was so classy the way he put up with essentially being bullied. Despite the way he was being treated, he didn't retaliate or get angry and in the last episode he kept saying how appreciative he was of Eddie 'helping' him even though Eddie had been such a jerk to him. Preston is a wonderful man and I have nothing but respect for him.
