I saw Zaib Shaikh on another Canadian television show. It was on in the late afternoon which surprised me considering its content. It was about gay people. His character picked up this other guy, and his friend was also trying to pick him up. Then they go back to one of their houses and have a threesome. Zaib is seen making out with both the other actors as well as giving head to one of them...I was in shock as I had seen him previously on Little Mosque. Ironic because it's like watching a person doing something for which on the other show, he is the equivalent of a Muslim priest.

I heard about that! I was going to watch it, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to and then I missed it. So anyways, yeah - I know what you're talking about!

Interesting... I wonder if the actor's funny in it. He sure isn't on Little Mosque! Yikes.

The show is called Metropia and was produced by Omni1 to meet the Canadian content requirements. Typically it airs at 11pm due to the graphic content and topics. It was a soap opera following the "exciting" lives of young people in Toronto. Zaib Shaikh played a closeted gay man whose sister was fixed up with a gay man, who becomes his lover. It aired long before LMotP was created. I cannot with a clear conscience recommend the show.

yeah...his sister had an arranged marriage with the other guy.....i watched it, until i couldnt' figure out when season two was having a new eppy..it got cancelled somewhere in the middle of season two...

i really liked it....

they didnt' have the typical stereo types.....

there was a killer in the show, at first who was korean...and that kind of idea...

Ugh! I remember now! It was a terrible show too and he was terrible as an actor in both.

Let's talk about something else, even Zaib is saying he takes his faith seriously now after his long-standing role in Little Mosque. Everyone
makes mistakes (especially given the western film & tv industry), let's get over it.

I would like to hear more about the role of the characters in the series,
rather than what they did previously.

If you find this idea so surprising you might want to check out the movie "A Touch of Pink" which is about a gay Ismaili Canadian played by Jimi Mistry.

zaib also did complete nudity in Metropia and love scenes with the other male actor. for what it is worth, he has a decent enough naked a$$ for an Indian guy.

but it was a previous role he played, and I'm quite sure he regrets it, although I should say it is the industry pushing people into such roles most of the time. Muslim actors find themselves acting like terrorists in hollywood in a similar way, although things are improving, hopefully in time..
