never aired in the United States

Hard to believe when it aired in 92 other countries including Israel.

They couldn't find a network in the US to make the money right. And besides, Fox optioned the rights for it to create their own Americanised version. That never went anywhere, though. So, if you're in the US, you'll have to check on 'alternate avenues' to see this.

During the writer's strike a few years ago, the US broadcast networks started looking at foreign shows to fill air time (that's how Flashpoint got picked up by CBS) and I recall reading that Little Mosque was one of the shows considered. I'm not surprised that the broadcast networks ultimately passed (if the strike had dragged on long enough it probably would have been picked up), but I'm a little surprised that it hasn't shown up on some cable channel by now. Maybe that will change at some point.

The first 4 seasons have been released on DVD in Canada and Amazon's Canadian site, amazon.ca, will ship to US addresses. This is the "alternate avenue" I chose for myself.
If you don't want to spend money, most of the episodes are on youtube.

I think I read somewhere the reason why this show didn't get picked up was cause it made Muslims look like jokes to the world. In Canada we can laugh at ourselves but some Americans frown on this. I also read something about an american version but who knows when and if that will come out.

Ya i own all 4 seasons on dvd and see season 5 is coming out June 26,2012

The entire series is now on Hulu, and you can purchase all of the seasons on DVD on amazon now.

No. Sadly. But I live in a border city and we get CBC as a broadcast channel so I was able to watch it. But I think it would have been a great show to air in this country, especially at that time.
