Did anyone think this while they were watching the film?

About the halfway mark, I honestly had a feeling that the Mother and the son's best friend were going to hit it off - I'm glad it didn't go that way as it would have been highly far-fetched but that was my suspicion later on in the film - in particular after the concert scene.

I think the film was also touching on her loneliness - she is divorced, lost her only son hence she was looking for both in that boy
