You also have to realize that a good majority of the "citizens" in muncie consist of the college students from BSU. My friend lives in muncie, and actually a couple of my buddies were production assistants on the show. They haven't been added to the cast yet because they have to be tagged to the episodes they helped in. Granted ok, production assistant is basically the lap dog for the producers and the cast, but I think it's a great start for two BSU T-Comm graduates to be participating in. Look for their names later. James Panighetti and Rick Klemcheski (Sorry rick, you crazy polok, I dunno how to spell your name and I'm FAR too lazy to pull up facebook). My friend also has one of Jason Acuna's jackets, because his sister (who is also Rick's fiance) did his laundry and Weeman left town forgetting his jacket.
Personally, regarding the show, I think it has both a positive and a negative effect on Muncie and Indiana. Most people view Indiana as the stereotypical corn country. There have been so many commercial and industrial advances in the state, yet it hasn't fully been recognized by the average public. This show is, in my opinion, an attempt to advertise Indiana and get it publicly noticed. That and there is the possibility the people in L.A. were trying to find a small area and just happened to pick Indiana, but if they wanted the true "hillbilly, po-dunk town" feel then why not pick Iowa or Nebraska or something?
I like the show. And I don't blame Jack Osbourne for locking the doors on south Madison either... That part of muncie is... different... I once saw a very pale man, in the middle of the night, riding a bike down the street, drinking out of a paper bag. The worst part, he was balding, looked like he was strung out on coke, and had no tires on his bike... No rubber whatsoever... Jim (James Panighetti) nicknamed him the south-muncie-poster-child... Enough of my ramblings though. Great show except for La Toya...
