Can anyone tell me the piece of classical music used in the film?

Playful, lively ... but I don't know the name! Thanks.

I just saw the film tonight. You'd have to be more specific, but from your description, I would say it was the Moment Musicaux No. 3 in F Minor by Franz Schubert.

Tchaikovsky?

I think you are referring to the piece taken from Tchaikovsky's ballet score for "Swan Lake." The piece is called "Danse des (petit) cynes." The bouncy tune was played several times throughout the film.

Almost all the pieces (if not all) were from either Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" or Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker."

There were quite a few pieces of classical music, not just one. Many were by Tchaikovsky, mostly from "Nutcracker." I believe the opening-credits music was by Dvorak, probably one of the Slavonic Dances. Fittingly, music in the final scene (Emilie and Gabriel) is by Schubert, but I can't name the piece. There is other Schubert scattered through the film, of course.
All the pieces are listed in the closing credits, which were almost too small to read (at least in the print I saw).

I'm actually looking for the name of the piece that is played during the end credits. I think it's being played somewhere during the movie as well. Any help would be appreciated.

If my memory serves me well, there are pieces by Tchaikovsky (Swan Lake Ballet, second act, and Nutcrackers), Mozart (Turkish March), Sibelius, Verdi, Dvorak, and of course Schubert's 14th String Quartet known as "Death and the Maiden." There is also what I believe to be another Mozart's sonata?

Chris,
I just wondered in the same way what is was. I am absolutely no classical expert but at once it appeared to me that is was a classical played version of a part of Dave's Pour un flirt avec moi. Dave is a former dutch men, who moved to France in the 70's and build up a singing carreer there. Pour un flirt avec moi is one of his greatest hits and the text of this song is perfectly fitting into the theme of the movie. The part that is being "covered" in a classical way is in my experience the end of the song, where he ends singing "la la la" etc. I just however can't seam to find a sound track of this movie to relisten to this part of music. the piece of music played at the end right before the credits roll and during the kiss is Schubert Adagio in E flat, Op.posth. 148 D.897 "Notturno"

If you are referring to the piece which begins with the bassoons, it's "Les Danses des cygnes" from Swan Lake.

reply

As has been said: You're looking for Tchaikovsky. The rest of the film is mostly Schubert, and in one scene Dvorak. No Mozart.

Would anybody know the name of the song that plays during the DVD's title menu? Thanks in advance!
