While this might not be one of the best movies ever... for the idea\concept and the fact that i cam with expectation for just another full-effects mindless movie - I really enjoyed it.
The acting, the small funny moments, the emotional\dramatic soundtrack....
I now regret watching this at home and not seeing it in 3D while it was in theaters.

I feel the same way. I watched at home on Blu Ray with 5 other adults. We all really enjoyed it very much. I am actually shocked at the negative comments. This was not supposed to be a remake or newer version of previous movies. It was historically correct as far as the Congo Slavery storyline portrayed. They added Tarzan and Jane to the mix. The scenes with Alex (Tarzan) and different animals were quite breathtaking. Especially the elephants. Samuel L Jackson's character was a real person. He did a great job just as the other Actors did.

I had heard that this movie had gotten bad reviews, but I've just finished watching it and it was great! I had to do some suspension of belief, but when you think about it, don't we in some fashion do that for most movies?

Yeah, I liked this movie very much as well. Never understood why it got so panned by the critics. It wasn't an unforgettable milestone, but it was still a good, well-made and fine film.
