Took another look - Still convinced he's innocent!!

Hello, I watched Doubt yesterday for the first time in about 3 or 4 years. I was wondering if I would see it differently. Meaning that crucial question - was Father Flynn guilty or innocent. Well, it turns out I see it the same way. Father Flynn did not molest Donald or give him the wine. However, he did have some issues. I believe his issue was that he was gay. Not that there is anything wrong with that - however, a gay priest in 1964?? WOuld've been a serious problem. He leaves the parish because he feels Sister Aloyiousis will continue to rummage through his past and uncover that he is a homosexual. As far as his relationship with DOnald - well I see it exactly as Father Flynn says - he has compassion toward the boy. ANyway - I saw it the same way years ago. Love to hear what other viewers think.......

He is guilty

1. He does not denies the accusations of touching the hand of London.
2. We wants to go on the nuns bach to get protection from anoter priest.
3. London is happy when is leaving.
4. He admits doing wrong. DOING, not BEING.

No, you can't prove that. All you can say is that there isn't strong evidence. And because of how the movie is written, there isn't.

There is no reason to pull a kid out of class for a private meeting. That is notable and inappropriate and extremely suspect.

He was gay, I suspect the majority of RC priests are. Not all pederasts but we know that a sizeable number of them are. Did he molest the kid? Probably. But I have my doubts. ☺

There's no strong evidence that he was a pedophile, certainly nothing to justfy Sister A's certainty about it. The "mystery" element isn't really the point of the movie, though.
