I don't think Meryl's accent was "all over the place." She hit it right on the head. She IS The Accent Mistress.

She deserved the Oscar, for Doubt, just as she deserved it for Out of Africa, Postcards from the Edge and many other of her films. She's going to pass up Katharine Hepburn any time now.

she's one of the most overrated actresses out there especially given some people seem to think she's the gold standard of acting (like she's untouchable) when she's not even close in my mind as she simply does not have the overall presence that many others do which makes many others out there much better overall.
