LOVED THE MOVIE!!

I also saw the film in Buenos Aires at the Rojos Sangre Film Festival. I believe it was the second running of the movie. In the afternoon. My boyfriend and me loved it. It was not predictable like many movies are and it had good emotion and not dumb like many movies today. It was complicated story and plot but it came together great at the end and I felt myself get crying a little bit. We loved it and thought it was one of the best movies we have seen this year. Not so predictble like the other films in the festival or as dumb. Most of the movies were dumb but not this one. When we were leaving we heard the main actress had won best actress and she was really good. Except that I had seen her on tv you would think she was American. All the actors were good we thought. I am sure not everyone will love it as us but it was quite the different and original movie and much enjoyed.

So, did you think it was dumb?

Or was it just dumb?

It was bigtime original and that made every scene seem fresh and even more compelling. The film has a hypnotic aura that draws you in on an emotional level and the artistry of the film technique and performances transport you to a magical, if sordid and dark, world. Kudos to the star actress, Victoria Morette. She was amazing.

YES! I agree. Does the movie have a different meaning outside the US I wonder because part of what grabbed me was the foreign quality to the film. Like a Fellini action film. And it was the lead actress Morette who pulled it together because of how she was able to convey both the sad, angry tragedy of her life with the growth by the end to see how one can't be consumed by the past if they want to have a future.
