Pedro Almodavar's new movie "The Skin I'm In" is pretty much this movie (which is based on the book "Mygale" also published at "Tarancula").
Of course directed by Almodovar it's going to be wacky but it is pretty much the same & oddly enough most reviews of 'The Skin I'm In' aren't mentioning the book or the factthe brillant movie Victim came out only last year! WTF?
Alas... how terrible is wisdom when it brings no profit to the wise
I wonder if Almodavar saw Victim? Be very interesting to compare how differnt/similiar the two films end up being.... Almodavar is known for a very bizzare style so no surprise he chose a similar subject matter.
shareThe only major difference between the two films is that The Skin I Live In is a masterpiece in filmmaking (and has much better writing, acting etc.) whereas Victim is a B-grade 'shock' horror. That's not to say I didn't enjoy 'Victim' as it was decent, but TSILI is just better in every single way. The similarities in plot are very funny though.
If the apocalypse comes, beep me.
Victim is Mongo to TSILI's Einstein.
