What was the language here?

This film sounded like it was dubbed, and I mean dubbed, not delivered in Mandarin. Why would that be? Aren't all the main actors from Hong Kong, and subsequently Cantonese speakers? Was it done for marketing reasons? Is this common?

I believe there is both a Cantonese and a Mandarin dub of the film. I'd hazard a guess and say that Cantonese was the language it was shot in. It's also possible it was shot without sync sound, and post synced poorly.
