what happened???
what happened at the end of the movie when she dropped the kids off at Lancaster County and then left while they were gone??? I totally missed the end! What happened?
shareThe kids come back and are told she's leaving and the eldest runs upstairs and gets something and they all run out to catch up with Sarah on the horse carriage. When they catch up with her, they give her a letter from their mom saying stuff about she wanted to help her or something like that...
By the looks of it, she stays. And the guy she was dating comes back...
I, personally, thought it was a ridiculous ending. I don't think she would've stayed just because her sister had written her the letter.

It's because the letter is from her sister and she realizes that her sister wanted her to raise these kids as Sarah saw fit because Ivy believed Sarah would love the kids as much as Ivy herself did, and that Sarah would be a wonderful mother, and it was Ivy's way of saying "Sarah I'm sorry for leaving you all those years ago to come to Amish county." I loved it, and it's also Lyddie's way of saying that although she blamed Caleb and Anna Mae for lying and keeping secrets, it was really her who kept a secret in the first place - the letter.
