What is with the directing of this movie?

Although the premise is quite enjoyable, the directing of the star is unbelievable. She's standing there, arms akimbo, while her whole life is falling apart. I forgot who she was (role, and actress) and could only think she was emulating Jennifer Aniston.
There were so many holes in this film that I cannot recommend it to anyone, no matter what their age. Sappy? Yes. Having an apartment THAT large, unbelievable. It just didn't gel with me. Her emotions were null, and it could've been so much better. The children were fantastic! I rate it D+.
