Problem with this movie and others like it.

I recently saw this and another low budget horror movie (The dead hate the living). This is what I see is the problem of both these movies.

In both of these movies, the director touts Italian horror movies (Bava, Argento, Fulci) as their "inspiration". The problem is that these hacks have no amount of talent close to these Italian masters.

So they hire women and write movies that work as "exploitation" fare, but they try to make it into a Italian-esque zombie flick, it just doesn't work. These directors don't know the first thing about atmosphere, which was the signature of Italian horror. They need to rewatch movies like Black Sunday and Suspiria for some education.

In Plaguers,all these "interstellar nurses" should've been naked or near so. Why else were they hired? Because of their acting skills? Because they emote so well? They all look like playboy playmates and all your audience are mostly males! Why are we trying to create art when the pieces all point to a movie that has the elements of a Joe Bob Briggs Drive B-movie feature?

This movie not only sucked, it was also a wasted oppportunity.
