Why no Common Sense Zombie Tactics?

OK, so you're stuck on a ship with zombies that only stay dead for like 30 seconds, and you've got tools.

OK, they can't die, but why just leave them when you get them down. I would cut off thier arms and legs and scatter them apart until I could blow them out into space. A Zombie can't move with no limbs, problem solved.

Don't know why B movie actors never can figure that out.
