Leaving Foyle's War

I saw this show and it's not bad, but, I cannot believe Michael Kitchen would leave Foyle's War todo shows such as this. What a shame, FW was much better.

He hasn't left. There's still one more series of Foyle's War to come. See http://www.foyleswar.com/episodes.htm for the titles of the final three episodes and some details about the first episode of the final series.

I haven't seen this show, but the way Foyle's War's been going lately, he could do a lot better.

your comment is ambiguous, but I infer that you think F's War is doing poorly. I have seen all episodes--though some new ones entitled generically as Foyle's Peace are set to be filmed. Back to F's War--I have seen all episodes and recently watched all episodes for a second time sequentially. Quality for this show is amazingly good and consistent. The reason, of course, is that the creator and writer of many of the shows, Anthony Horowitz has maintained high quality form first episode to the final one. Also, Kitchen is very good as Foyle and the productin values are high, especially the acting, which in almost all shows is top-notch. I have reviewed the show elsewhere, but would like to emphasize how really good this show is. The subject matter of crime/intelligence problems in Britain lends itself to excellent dramas with most plots reflecting real problems of a nation at war. I have seen no t.v. film or movie that challenges Foyle's War stranglehold on quality--it is the best t.v. has ever had to offer. See it or you will have cheated yourself out of a really fine film experience.

I know this is a very late reply, but to qualify one part of the previous post: the production standards/values of Foyle's War were high UNTIL the end of the 6th series/season. For series 7 & 8 the budget was reduced, which is made evident by the use of picture backgrounds for London scenery and smaller casts. The writing is still pretty consistent, though the Foyle's Peace episodes aren't quite as gripping as ones during the war years, IMO.
