Why is this show so disgusting?!?!

Ugh, my little sister can't even watch the theme song to this show! Every episode is nauseating! Why is this show so gross and why does Nick keep churning out crap like this and the naked brothers band?!?!

And seriously, did Amy Pohler seriously think that this cartoon, which could be the most nauseating thing on tv, was a good idea?!

It might have been a good idea, but it was poorly executed..

reply

I find nothing wrong with this show.

It's Nickelodeon! It supposed to be WEIRD and DISGUSTING. It has been doing that since the late eighties (with the infamous YOU CAN'T DO THAT ON TELEVISION) and early nineties (with REN AND STIMPY).

reply

Well then how do you explain Zoey 101 and The Naked Brothers Band? They aren't disgusting, but they are Traumatizing and induce suicidal thoughts...

reply

Mighty B is like the old cartoons, if you cant handle that, then you cant handle the original Nick.

Mrs. Joe Jonas :)

I somewhat agree. The antics and thoughtless (but funny) plot of the show does remind me of some of the classics like The Ren and Stimpy show, but most children nowadays aren't interested in what the classic nick gave. As annoying as it seems, my baby cousin would rather see re-runs all day of Spongebob and Mighty B then Are You Afraid of the Dark? or The Adventures of Pete & Pete or any other classic show. I don't entirely blame nick for that, its just the type of media and technology they've been grown up with that have made them appreciate those types of shows more.

reply

Quite the contrary. The Mighty B is a laughing stock, like many other Nick shows. Do you know what all the talk was at school after it's first commercial aired? Hows: "I can't believe they are going to pass this for entertainment"?

I really have trouble understanding why some people think this show is o.k. Ren and Stimpy was fine. There is a lot more to this show besides the disgustig "Humor". The nerdy, geeky, dorky, stupid and clueless main charecter, the bratty beyond all reason teen, the whole plot lines, it's all terrible.

This show sucks! this show Sucks!

reply

Don't forget that all the good electronic stuff in the world was made and invented and is maintained by nerds, geeks, and dorks. Even your computer.

reply

Jesse, seeing as you are a fan of the Jonas Brothers, so I am guessing you aren't that old, so am I seriously supposed to believe that you were born around the time that nick still had good cartoons?

I've seen Nick's old cartoons (when I was younger AND now that they are on Nicktoon's TV, and they are WAY better then The Mighty B...The Mighty B tries to be funny by being gross, but it doesn't succeed and ends up being nothing except boring and nauseating)

Don't talk to me as if you know what the hell you're talking about, because you don't

i grew up with ren & stimpy...and i really couldn't watch that show b/c it made me queasy...even when i was 5-10 years old. and how many years later...when i try to watch the mighty b...there are some things that still make me queasy. haha.
it is a pretty gross show....but...its true...thats just classic nickelodeon.

Um, you and your little sister are being totally hypersensitive here. How is the intro sequence nauseating? Yeah, sure, some things are a little gross, but kids are generally amused by gross things like farts and toilet humor. Your sister is an exception to this rule, obviously.

FYI: The Naked Brothers band members aren't actually naked, in case you weren't aware; that would be child porn.

If you don't like it, then DON'T WATCH IT. I don't get why people feel the need to bitch and complain all of the time, like you're actually being harmed by the show. It's just a friggin' cartoon.

reply

If you call 'Ren & Stimpy' a classic cartoon, I feel bad for you. Youngsters....what did all of you do with your "NKOTB" posters?

These cartoons are nothing compared to the old-school Looney Tunes. You know, the ones they won't show anymore because they are too insulting....

reply

I'd probably like the show if it weren't so gross. I'm always hesitant to watch an episode because I don't know if it'll contain something disgusting or not. The chicken pox episode just played on my tv, and I had to choke back my gag reflex when she took the thermometer out of the kid's mouth and ATE the mucus off of it.

The cartoons I grew up with were NOT that gross.

Like I said, the show's fine... WITHOUT the nasty stuff. It's totally unnecessary and just serves to turn the show off to me. Besides those moments, the show can be really funny, but I just can't watch it all that often because I don't want to be made sick by something that's supposed to entertain me.

Uber gross!

Nick is trying to bring back it's "crude humor" days.

This like other Nicktoons such as SpongeBob and Fairly Odd Parents are most definitely written with two audiences in mind...Kids and tweens AND adults. There ae most certainly two levels of humor just like the classic Warner Bros cartoons. That's why like as with Bugs Bunny and friends, many nicktoons are loved by adults too. I LOVE the Mighty B just looking at Bessie and her hyper activeness cracks me up add in Amy Pohler's brilliant character voice and I lose it. Very very smart... very very funny stuff here. Perhaps they're targeting it to a too young of a crowd... cause it seems you just don't get it.

I think rikkirat nailed it. I feel exactly the same way. I'm a 35-year-old female and I loved the old Bugs Bunny cartoons as a child without coming CLOSE to understanding most of the jokes (who the heck was this "Frankie" guy all the ladies were swooning over??), and now I love cartoons like Ren & Stimpy, Spongebob, Fairly Oddparents, and absolutely The Mighty B.

I mean, seriously, I can't even THINK about the "Running with the Rainbow Unicorn" ep without actually laughing aloud at the perfect way the song captures girls I went to school with who were very much like Portia. Canopy bed? Diaries and stickers? T-shirts with rainbows going across the front, including both sleeves? I mean, do kids even do that now, or is everything done via blogs on Myspace?

So perhaps Poehler and gang are capturing their own childhood, which is difficult for modern kids to relate to. I dunno what it is, but like rikkirat said, you guys just don't seem to get it.

I totally agree! While I watched many episodes of the Mighty B, the chickpox episode that was mentioned before, was the most disgusting! Yuck! I mean there are ways to be funny without being totally gross. I grew up with the old Nick shows, but I didn't really like Ren & Stimpy. I remember watching Salute Your Shorts, Double Dare, Wild & Crazy Kids, Guts, Clarissa Explains It All, and The Adventures of Pete & Pete. Come to think of it, I didn't really watch the Nick Cartoons when I was younger, except for Doug & Inspector Gadget.
