I was the guy who saw this on the plane, and I can assure you that an English subtitle version exists... someplace. I am currently living in Germany, and I was disappointed to find that even though this movie is now available at my local video store as a DVD, it does not have subtitles of any sort. I have since contacted the film production company and its PR firms in Austria and Germany hoping to find a definitive answer-- I told them that Falco has fans in English speaking countries too, and they should really consider offering a version with subtitles, especially seeing as they already exist, and the cost of adding them to further production runs would be negligible. I have not yet contacted the airline as has been suggested by others, but that may be another avenue to pursue.
If you do speak German though, it's been my experience that any DVD will play on your computer, no matter where it was produced (and I have a rather embarrassingly large library of Chinese-bootlegs to prove it).
I'll let the board know when I hear back from the film makers.
Lauren: Good news and bad news. Following is the pertinent response from the offices of MR Film, makers of the Falco movie:
" thanks for your nice mail. We are sorry but such a DVD is not available actually, but we are working on it. Date of release not yet fixed. "
So, it would appear that while a version with subtitles is eventually going to happen, it won't be in the immediate future. Well, an answer is an answer, even if it's not the one we all wanted to hear.
