To torture or not to torture is not the point of this movie

It is contemptuous of morality to consider not trying to stop an atomic bomb when it would cause hundreds of thousands of children to die instantly, further thousands to die horribly from radiation burns and more thousands to die horribly of radiation poisoning.

It equally immoral to torture and murder two children.

One could argue there are degrees of immoral behavior, that argument does not eliminate the grotesque immorality of either path of action.

The point is that sometimes (hopefully not often) where there is not a moral decision available. Welcome to the human race.
