Did anyone lse think Gretel seemed alot nicer to Bruno in the film then in the book I remember in th book she described Bruno as a 'hopeless case' and didn't seem to care to much for him untill right at the when she cries alot because of how much she misses Bruno. In the movie she assures Bruno that thier father is a good man and when Buno comes into her room scared because their parents are arguing she comforts him and at the end when she her distaut whenshe finds Bruno's clothes .

Yes, Gretel from the movie was almost a completely different character that the one portrait on the book.

Actually, if you check again on the book a 'hopeless case' it's actually how Bruno refers to her.

The movie doesn't show (among many other details) the 'harsh' siblings relation as described on the book.
