I got the dvd's and watched both. Similar in structure and character, but quiet city is visibly more mature and is more enjoyable.

I think you're right that Quiet City is visibly (visually) more mature but Dance Party USA feels like a film with a bit more to say.

i definitely liked Quiet CIty more, though i'm a fan of both films. Quiet City had a huge impact on me.

Most films of this ilk are all about dull, middle-class college graduates struggling to live in the adult world! It's very annoying how such a dull film scene has influenced a bunch of film students with limited talent and ideas to make even duller half-assed films.
All Mumblecore has proved is that you can market anything as long as it has a name.
