*spoiler* help me understand what happend, please..

At the end of episode 7 Fitz was dying on the floor in the hospital from some disease and Chen "jumped" through the window to save him.

When I saw that I was really exited about episode 8, when I watched episode 8 they didn't even mention anything about the disease.. so, did I miss something or what happen?

oh and btw, is the show over or is there going to be a season 2?
