When does it come to theaters?

on thinkfilmcompany.com (under the international tab) it says the release date is November 2007. I just saw it at the RiverRun film festival in Winston-Salem, NC so it's making the festival rounds as well.

November 7 is the national release date at http://fine-films.com/main/

But if you want to see it in your town, it would be a very good idea to contact your local movie house manager personally and ask them to run it.

Landmark Theatres http://www.landmarktheatres.com/ is the largest national chain devoted to "art house" and independent cinema - they would be a good choice for that contact...

War/Dance will be in the Asheville (NC) Film Fest on Sat, Nov. 10.

According to the Wall Street Journal, unless you live in Los Angeles, Manhattan, Montpellier, VT or Three Oaks, MI, your chances could be slim.

The WSJ has a very interesting article in today's (09/09/07) edition, "Taking the Back Road to the Oscars" about how this and other doccumentaries get distributed in order comply with the Academy's submission rules.

Seems that they require theatrical runs or 7 days in Los Angeles and Manhattan, and screening in 14 theaters in 10 states. Sounds promising, until you read how distributors are running this and other quality doccumentaries in obscure theaters in out-of-the-way places with little publicity and audiences as small as one (count'em) ONE!
