Saw it last night at I was moved.

I've met children just like the ones featured in this amazing documentary about children overcoming their pasts in Northern Uganda. When these amazing children tell their stories, it can rip out even the most calloused heart. These children are not just affected, they are funny, cocky, and truly great musicians. I hope that this movie gets world wide distribution so that everyone is able to hear directly from these children what real hope is.

It was tremendous on so many levels.
And it reminds us all the power of art (music/dance).

To be honest I was so moved by it I logged onto the shineglobal.org website with the aim of donating money. Unfortunately, the payment section is not data encrypted so I am not taking a chance of someone stealing my account details as happened to me last year.

I have seen all 5 of the Oscar nominated documentaries and War Dance is the best of them (note both No End in Sight and Taxi to the Dark Side are also very good).

I agree - this is an AMAZING documentary. Very heartbreaking & moving film. It puts your own problems in perspective, as you are made aware of these children's plight. It's extremely inspiring to see these children rise above their pain & approach life in such a positive, uplifting fashion.

Powerful film, it does a wonderful job of telling the story of the Acholi.

A very well-paced doc that takes you in directions heart-rending and poignant. I thought it might be boring, but the background stories of the kids are riveting.

My eyes started tearing only minutes into the film. Such a positive, uplifting look at life in Africa after getting used to seeing the typical gamut of tragic documentaries and films about wars, famines, and genocide. It made me happy to see these children have something fun and healthful to work toward in a land of violence and limited opportunity.

Thanks for a great film.

I just finished seeing this documentary. This was excellent, and something that everyone should see. It showed the good, the bad and the ugly as these children defied the odds competing in the competition and that music binds people together, no matter what the circumstances.

This movie took you to the saddest lows to the most joyous highs. You couldn't help being so proud when "our" kids won one of the trophies at the competition.

I'm glad I got to see this.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.
